A kind and intelligent lady living in sheltered accommodation in Chirnside is looking for additional staff to join her small team.

Both permanent and adhoc PA’s are required. She lives with Parkinson’s, chronic fatigue and anxiety. The role is to provide general daily support within the home including medication, small meals (no cooking), domestic tasks, social contact and emotional support. Some personal care is required. This lady appreciates a calm and kind personality, patience and a willingness to learn her routines and preferences. Also, someone who can occasionally assist her with using an iPad.
Anyone who can help with any of the times needed is encouraged to apply on a job share basis. There is also the opportunity for additional hours to cover sickness and annual leave. A 2 week repeating rota is used.

Week 1
Mon 3-6pm
Wed 6-9pm
Fri 3-6pm
Sun 10-2pm, 2-6pm
Week 2
Mon 4-9pm
Wed 6-9pm
Fri 3-6pm
14 hours per week average
- £15.00 per hour
- Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
- Probationary period of 6 months
- Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- To support the client to help ensure her safety and wellbeing
- To support with personal care needs including:
- Support with washing and dressing
- Support to get to the toilet
- To support with general care needs such as:
- Administering medication
- Offering emotional support throughout the day
- Preparation of meals and drinks and encouraging fluids
- To help maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client’s equipment and surroundings
- To develop a positive relationship with the client and her family
- To interact with the client and keep her entertained with activities she enjoys within the home

Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of chronic fatigue syndrome would be desirable but is not essential
Experience is not essential for a candidate with the right personal attributes; however, applicants should be able to demonstrate some suitability for the role.
