What To Expect
Across EMEA, Tesla’s fleet of Megapacks, commercial battery systems, and Superchargers is scaling fast — and every one of those assets needs world‑class EHS support. As a Sr. EHS Specialist, you’ll advance EHS and electrical safety programs for a product fleet that didn’t exist five years ago, shaping how safety scales as Tesla’s energy and charging service network expands across EMEA.
You’ll work closely with field service technicians operating on high and low voltage systems and cutting‑edge energy products, developing the safety programs and standards that scale with the business. You’ll have direct exposure to Tesla’s global EHS leadership and room to grow as the EMEA service footprint expands. This role requires regional and international travel. Fluency in English is essential; additional European languages are desirable.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the trusted EHS advisor to Energy & Charging Service leadership, field service technicians, and contracting partners across EMEA operations and maintenance activities.
- Develop and execute short and long‑term plans for Tesla’s Electrical Safety program across utility and commercial O&M, including safe work practices for high and low voltage systems, arc flash protection, and battery storage.
- Maintain a visible field presence alongside service teams — coach, train, and empower technicians on electrical safety, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
- Act as the electrical safety technical expert for compliance and risk management across all post‑commissioning phases: operations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Respond to and investigate EHS events, determine root causes, develop preventative actions, and promote Human & Organizational Performance principles across service operations.
- Identify gaps in service safety programs and drive creative solutions through cross‑functional collaboration, particularly for emerging risks in battery storage and charging technology.
- Lead EHS meetings to communicate learnings and performance metrics; oversee adherence to EHS management plans and conduct risk assessment reviews across field service activities.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in electric power generation, transmission, storage, or distribution, with hands‑on expertise in high and low voltage systems and industrial electrical equipment.
- Practical knowledge of electrical standards (IEC, NFPA 70‑E, EU Directives) and demonstrated ability to develop and implement compliant safety programs.
- Strong field presence — comfortable working alongside technicians, coaching in the moment, and leading by example.
- Communication and influencing skills across all levels — service managers, field technicians, regulators, and senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or related field; NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with EHS regulatory systems across EMEA (Benelux, UK + I, France, Nordics); proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite.
- Experience with lithium‑ion battery storage systems or EV charging infrastructure strongly preferred.
