MCR Property Group is currently seeking a Construction Maintenance Operative to join our team in the South East to cover a corridor around Luton, Aylesbury and surrounding areas. Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance works and reactive repairs across a range of residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
  • Undertake tapering and jointing and wider carpentry, minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC repairs.
  • Inspect and maintain building systems and equipment to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, install, repair and replace fixtures and appliances where required.
  • Ensure all working areas are kept clean, safe and well organised.
  • Communicate with property managers, colleagues and tenants, collaborate with team members to ensure smooth completion of work.
  • Maintain clear logs of maintenance and repair activities.

Qualifications and skills

  • Proven experience in a maintenance, handyman or similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of general repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC systems is essential.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full driving licence and reliable transport (required).
  • Willingness to travel to sites across the area; occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
  • Cladding experience desirable; candidates must have their own tools.
