Overall Purpose of the Job
Based at our Coretrax facility in Portlethen, Aberdeen you will be responsible for the movement of equipment and materials in or out of the yard/workshop area. Ensure that all activities within the yard area (e.g., lifting and movement of equipment) are carried out in accordance with company procedures and that the safety of all personnel, including visitors, is maintained. Key Activities & Accountabilities
- Operate various forklift truck types, including 8-tonne combi lift, 15-tonne and 3.5-tonne counterbalance, and aisle master. Operate workshop cranes (full in-house training will be provided).
- Operate torque machine to make up and break out tools from BHAs.
- Transport pieces of equipment to and from local machine shops and third‑party hired equipment to and from third parties, ensuring loads do not exceed truck capacity.
- Load and unload equipment into and out of offshore baskets and 10‑ft containers, secure loadout tools, complete drop‑object inspections, take photos of loaded baskets, and ensure all serial numbers of tools are visible.
- Clean and prepare stripped tool parts for inspection using power washer, air buffs, shot blaster, and wash cleaning machines.
- Record all returned incoming equipment serial numbers as per procedure and inform workshop coordinator of returns/checklist.
- Maintain designated yard areas, keep product lines in their respective areas, and provide feedback during toolbox talks if areas become untidy.
- Work flexibly, including reasonable overtime as required.
- Actively participate in daily toolbox talks to discuss safety, status/tasks, mobilisation/demobilisation updates, etc.
- Carry out daily forklift and pick‑up truck inspections; use forklift/pick‑up check sheets and report faults to the workshop supervisor.
- Identify and report broken or rotten pallets for scrapping as per wood‑waste procedures.
Job Knowledge & Qualifications
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Previous working experience in a similar role.
- Appropriate certificates for using and operating lifting equipment (e.g., forklift licence, banksman slinger).
- Beneficial experience in conducting lifting operations, e.g., appointed person, LOLER focal point.
- Written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively with others.
- Proficient PC skills.
