Complex Needs Support Worker – Schools

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people with complex needs? We’re looking for a compassionate, resilient school Support Worker to join a specialist school team in Sefton, Liverpool supporting pupils aged 3–19 in small, nurturing class settings.

Who You’ll Be Supporting

Children and young people with a wide range of needs including autism, PMLD, SEMH, sensory processing differences, and communication challenges. Every day is different—and every child deserves someone who sees their potential.

The Role

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support across the school day
  • Assist with personal care, emotional regulation, and communication strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver consistent, person-centred care
  • Use creative approaches to engage pupils and celebrate progress
  • Support transitions, routines, and therapeutic interventions

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in SEND settings (school, care, or community)
  • Confidence supporting children with complex needs across age groups
  • Calm, empathetic approach with strong teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to individual pupil profiles
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
