Hours: 6 hrs per week. Days / Hours: (Proposed shifts: 10am – 1pm or 1.30pm – 4.30pm). Days flexible – to be discussed at interview.

Rate of Pay: £14.56 per hour.

Provide support and companionship to a young man with Autism living with his family in the Kilwinning area.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Provide social support and companionship within the local community, ensuring his safety at all times. Must be physically fit and able to respond quickly as he can run off if distracted.
Assist with his access to the local community, including going to the gym, swimming pool, and other recreational activities.
Support personal care as needed, such as prompting to get dressed after swimming.
Encourage and reassure him in a positive way; remain calm, friendly, cheery, and easy‑going.
Accompany him to football games, stadium visits, and other outings; may require longer shifts to travel further afield.
Assist with music and theatre interest activities; support confidence to attend theatre events.

Experience of working with young adults with Autism is essential.
Must have a driver’s licence, own car, and business insurance.
Must be physically fit and comfortable assisting with swimming (despite his own inability to swim).
Mileage costs will be covered for work‑related travel; wage rate incorporates a travel allowance.
Must undergo a new PVG Disclosure at the employer’s expense and provide two reference contacts before appointment.
There is a 6‑month probationary period with one week’s notice during that time if the post does not work out.
