Community Psychiatric Nurse – Band 6 (North West Leicestershire)

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to apply for a Band 6 CPN post in the North West Leicestershire Neighbourhood Team. The Neighbourhood Team is part of secondary care services, providing assessments and treatment packages for a range of service users aged 18‑65 years, with complex mental health needs.
The post holders will maintain a clinical caseload and work effectively in the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality mental health assessments, treatment programs and manage risk. This work involves patients and their carers in the delivery of evidence‑based interventions, recovery‑focused work. You will visit people in their own homes and communities as well as running clinics at the team base, and experience of post‑registration work with this client group is desired.
You must be a qualified Mental Health Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council/Professional Health Council, hold a full UK driving licence and be able to use a car for work purposes.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and planning own caseload as an autonomous practitioner and monitoring those of other team members to meet patient priorities and service needs. The role involves working in a multi‑disciplinary framework, prioritising and organising workload effectively, and using time‑management skills to readjust plans as situations change, including crisis needs of patients, tribunal reports and Mental Health Act meetings.
The post holder will respond to referrals from Primary care, outpatient and ward settings by undertaking comprehensive assessments of patients who may have complex needs (Mental Health, physical, emotional & psychosocial) using investigative, analytical and clinical reasoning skills to provide accurate reports of their condition and to feed this back to the professionals involved in their care both written and verbally.
To receive clinical supervision on a monthly basis and supervise and coordinate less experienced staff and students working with the post holder, ensuring the standards of good practice are consistently achieved through leadership and supervision whilst providing advice, training and education to other members of the MDT/colleagues regarding nursing and evidence‑based interventions.
