Lead Intensive Needs Support Worker – Full Time

Lincolnshire NEST (Nacro Education, Support and Transition) Youth Housing

Actual Starting Salary £28,840 per annum

We are commissioned by Lincolnshire County Council Children Services to provide accommodation and support to 16-21 year olds across the county of Lincolnshire. NEST operates three Intensive Need houses in the city, offering a safe, homey environment for one or two young people in each house.

Role Overview

You will lead and supervise a team of five support workers (including two night workers) to deliver tailored support to young people with complex needs, such as substance misuse, learning difficulties, limited independent living skills, offending behaviours and mental health issues.

Responsibilities

  • Support, guide and supervise the team through formal and informal mechanisms, prioritising their personal development.
  • Lead the team through the Young People’s journey from move‑in to move‑out, coordinating support across NEST sites.
  • Provide emotional support to young people and help them build resilience and coping strategies.
  • Represent the team in multi‑agency meetings and collaborate with external professionals.
  • Document progress through action planning, safety planning and monitoring; keep accurate record‑keeping.
  • Attend weekly team meetings, away days and training sessions as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Enhanced and Barred DBS check.
  • Full employment and education history available.
  • At least one satisfactory reference from a current or most recent employer.
  • Experience working with young people in a support or residential setting.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Working Hours and Schedules

40 hours a week, 4 × 10‑hour shifts per week on a 4‑week rolling rota. Shift work includes mornings, afternoons and evenings, but does not involve overnight duties.
