Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Under close supervision, assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts into sub‑assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools and operate equipment such as jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble parts.
  • Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of products and raw materials.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and PPE (personal protection equipment) requirements while completing the assigned duties in a safe manner.
  • Ensure the lines are set‑up and running to meet the production schedule in accordance with work orders.
  • Understand line and pump configuration, clean and inspect lines, and perform line change‑overs as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and address items that fail checks.
  • Stage and unload railcars and tank trucks.
  • Take bulk samples from railcars and tank trucks and deliver them to the QC lab.
  • Take particle‑count samples and run particle‑count tests.
  • Prepare customer trucks for sealing, sampling, and associated paperwork, and inspect and close MPOs.
  • Keep accurate production records.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance personnel to determine equipment set‑up and operations.
  • Monitor and assist assigned packaging operators.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Department to recognize and rectify quality issues; has the authority to stop the line and notify QA of a contamination event.
  • Perform the duties of both a packaging operator and material handler.
  • Comply with all cGMP requirements.
  • Manage hazardous and universal waste according to local, state and federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Education

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

1–3 years of related experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably a chemical plant.

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem‑analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Critical decision‑making skills, creativity, and multi‑tasking ability.
  • RCRA training.

Additional Information

Reports to production supervisor.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • May be exposed to both extreme heat and cold.
  • Typical production area includes occasional noise, heat, fumes, and dust.
  • Physical strength and endurance required to stand, lift, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Full‑time position (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday during core business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; overtime may be required to accomplish assignments.
