South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed care homecompany based in Worthing, West Sussex. We operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex, 411 beds. Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short-term stays.
Position
Maintenance Operative – based at Blatchington Manor Care Home in Seaford, with travel to other sites.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Estates and Health and Safety, you will be responsible for providing an outstanding service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality reactive maintenance work and some project work across our care and nursing homes.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Practical hands‑on maintenance experience in plumbing
- Basic electrical skills
- Basic carpentry skills
- Experience in painting and decorating
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment, managing conflicting priorities while meeting deadlines
- Proactive, able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
- A full clean driver’s licence (role involves travelling between sites in a company van)
- Comfortable using computers and mobile devices
- DBS check required
Hours
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, with on‑call rota.
Package
- Salary of £32,000 per annum
