Job Description:

Bilfinger UK are looking for a SIPS Coordinator to join us High View Power in Carrington on a permanent staff basis. Bilfinger UK will be the principle contractor for Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation (MEI) construction, including structural steelwork. This project will be first‑of‑a‑kind, commercial‑scale greenfield delivery of a 50MW / 300MWh Liquid Air Energy Storage (LAES) facility, supporting long‑duration energy storage and the UK’s net‑zero transition. A landmark project combining innovation, engineering excellence, and collaboration to deliver one of the UK’s most advanced energy storage assets.

Responsibilities

  • Identify any planned work requiring SIPs activities are identified in good time
  • Collaborate with project / construction managers, engineers, and site supervision to plan and schedule the SIPs activities in time to allow the works to be executed as planned
  • Collaborate with the Temporary Works Coordinator to identify any requirements
  • Liaise with the Temporary Works Coordinator to ensure designs are suitable and sufficient and fit for use
  • Ensure all SIPs activities comply with relevant standards, regulations and project specifications
  • Identify potential risks and issues associated with SIPs activities, and proactively address them to avoid delays or safety concerns
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on project timelines, scope, and deliverables
  • Ensure that the Planners / Completions Engineer / Superintendents are kept informed of progress and any issues as appropriate
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is kept up to date
  • Attend Daily Coordination meetings and any other meetings as required
  • Submit regular progress reports to the Project Director / Construction Manager
  • Develop detailed scopes of work for maintenance, shutdowns etc.
  • Ensure scopes align with relevant specifications and site standards.
  • Creation of work packs to allow planning and execution of works.
  • Create RAMS and permits as required for work scopes.
  • Attend internal / external meetings as per business requirements.
  • Ensure scopes align with relevant plans and master schedules.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure alignment on plans and resolve any scheduling conflicts or constraints.
  • Generate and manage purchase requisitions of materials, tooling, hire equipment etc based on scheduled dates as required.
  • Provide regular updates to Estimating and Planning Lead on potential risks, and proposed solutions.
  • Identify potential capacity bottlenecks and propose solutions to optimize resource utilisation.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing planning efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communicate proactively about potential issues or changes that may affect production or delivery.
  • Ensure trackers are up to date and accurate.
  • Track required sub cons / materials / third party dates as required using material tracker as an aid.
  • Capture lessons learned from executed scopes for future reference / learning.
  • Contribute to standardisation of scope templates and best practices across site.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Good computer skills and experience delivering results and meeting client expectations

Experience Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role, within the Petrochemical/Refinery sector
  • Excel experience
  • Experience and knowledge of schedules and plans
