Support Worker for 13‑year‑old Boy with Autism
Provide support to a 13‑year‑old boy who lives in the Aykley Heads area of Durham.
We are looking for someone to take our son (who has autism) out into the community once or twice a week. He enjoys going for walks, visiting parks and shopping.
Hours and Wage
4 hours per week during term time, 8 hours per week during school holidays.
£13.50 per hour. Hours are flexible and can be discussed at interview; generally after school Monday–Friday, weekends or any time during holidays.
Responsibilities
Your main role will be to support our son in going out into the community and ensure he is safe while engaging in activities he enjoys.
Additional Requirements
No training required.
Experience working with adults or children with autism is an advantage but not essential.
A car driver with own car is not essential; trips can be taken by bus, although it would be an advantage.
An enhanced DBS check will be required; the employer will cover the cost.
