We are looking for a resourceful and energetic multi‑skilled operative to join our expanding team at North Manchester General. This role offers you an opportunity to showcase your expertise and knowledge in an ever‑changing environment.
Responsibilities
As a multi‑skilled operative, you will support and fix issues across the site, ensuring that visitors, workers, and patients receive the same great experience. No day will be the same; you will analyse and resolve technical issues, liaising with stakeholders and clinical staff to support the running of a busy hospital.
You will undertake robust estates maintenance and repair works on hospital equipment, including electrical, mechanical, carpentry, landscaping, and constructive services and hardware installations. Your basic skills should keep properties maintained in accordance with service level agreements and the appropriate quality standards.
You will prioritise your workload to affect change within the hospital, building a safe environment for clients, visitors and staff. The role demands planned preventative maintenance as well as reactive maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, and training on new systems.
You will ensure safe and responsible use of equipment, including manual handling, while working in potentially hazardous environments (switch/plant rooms, workshops) and environmental conditions (confined spaces, heat, cold, wet, dirty) following H&S and Codes of Practice.
