Extraordinary Days Every Day

At Cambian you’re not just working – you’re shaping futures. As a Children’s Support Worker, every moment you spend with our young people (ages 11–18) helps them feel safe, valued, and supported.

A simple “How was your day?”, a shared laugh over a board game, or encouragement during a tough moment – these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging, but every breakthrough, smile, and step forward reminds you why this work truly matters.

What You’ll Do

Support young people with their daily routines, such as getting ready for school, preparing for meal times, and planning activities.

Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.

Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.

Plan and join fun activities such as trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights, or creative projects.

Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.

New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system daily to document, monitor, and update children’s records accurately. Experience with ClearCare is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided. All staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day‑to‑day role.

Where You’ll Do It

Our home is nestled in a scenic village just outside Wellington, Somerset. It feels like home to everyone who walks through the door. We are committed to creating a nurturing environment where young people and dedicated staff can thrive, grow, and enjoy positive, meaningful experiences. Our home is a place of belonging, creativity, and care – a place where everyone is encouraged to be themselves.

We are strong advocates for our young people, working closely with them to build confidence, develop life skills, and empower them to reach their full potential. Since the home opened, we’ve witnessed remarkable growth and achievements, and we couldn’t be prouder of the progress they’ve made. Their journeys fill us with hope, pride, and a deep sense of purpose.

Our team’s approach begins with understanding the individual needs of our young people, recognising each team member’s strengths and areas for growth. This thoughtful foundation allows us to work collaboratively and consistently, ensuring we provide meaningful and effective support that has a lasting impact on the lives of those in our care.

Teamwork and open communication are at the heart of everything we do. We regularly reflect on our practice, support one another, and are committed to ongoing professional development. This shared commitment strengthens our team and creates a positive, stable environment where both staff and young people can thrive.
