Job Overview

Role: Mental Health Support Worker

Location: The Lighthouse, Burnham-on-Sea (TA8)

Salary: £14.05 – £14.75 per hour

Hours: 35 hours a week

Shift: 08:30 – 21:00 (Occasional sleep in if needed to cover)

About The Lighthouse

At The Lighthouse we support nine people with Mental Health needs or who may have a dual diagnosis. We work with people with varied abilities to reach their full potential. We enable people to develop their skills, strengths, and resilience.

We help them develop a set of resources to self-manage and stay well. We provide support to assist them in developing coping techniques which can make a noticeable difference in their everyday lives. We understand that everyone is an individual and that their needs may vary; wherever complexity lies, we encourage, support, and motivate them to achieve their optimum level of independence.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompt independence while helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Support and encourage the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintain and assist with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teach life skills such as budgeting, paying bills, and shopping.
  • Assist with personal care as required.
  • Assist with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.

Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development.
