Job title – Domestic Abuse Housing Support Worker

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and proactive Domestic Abuse Housing Officer to join our Domestic Abuse Accommodation Support Team. Our integral and rewarding role is focused on supporting women and children fleeing domestic abuse by helping them transition from temporary specialist accommodation into safe, secure, and sustainable permanent housing solutions. The successful individual will work closely with local authorities, registered providers, and multi‑agency partners to ensure residents receive high‑quality housing management and support services that promote safety, wellbeing, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support women and children fleeing domestic abuse to access safe, secure, and sustainable housing, including tenancy sign‑ups and move‑on support.
- Manage void properties by coordinating repairs, furnishings, contractor access, and ensuring homes are ready for new residents quickly.
- Deliver effective tenancy and housing management, including addressing anti‑social behaviour, tenancy breaches, and rent/service charge matters.
- Work collaboratively with support workers, local authorities, housing providers, and multi‑agency partners to achieve positive resident outcomes.
- Promote resident wellbeing and safeguarding by identifying support needs and making appropriate referrals where necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience working within domestic abuse services, and topic associated with FGM, non‑molestation orders and police protections and all forms of abuse.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding processes.
- Excellent communication and partnership‑working skills.
- Experience handling challenging situations professionally and calmly.
