Axcis Education are currently recruiting for a Support Worker in a school in Hereford. We are working on behalf of local settings for a range of long‑term and short‑term roles.
This is a full‑time position, Monday to Friday 8:30‑3:30 pm during term time only. The days may be flexible (or Job Share) for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support to a student with social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Assist the student in staying on task to achieve good outcomes in their work.
- Plan and lead activities (e.g., arts, drawing, listening to music) outside and inside the classroom.
- Build rapport and maintain a strong working relationship with the student.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with young people or children/young adults.
- Understanding, resilient, reliable and empathetic.
- Previous experience with disclosures of information is a bonus.
Pay: £14.25 per hour. This is a temporary position unless otherwise specified.
Requirements: Must be prepared to provide an up‑to‑date DBS (or allow Axcis to process one on your behalf) and comply with mandatory checks in line with DfE guidelines.
In accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, this post is exempt for positions involving work with children or vulnerable adults.
