Production Operative

To operate machinery and mobile equipment safely and efficiently within the hammermill area, ensuring smooth production processes, maintaining quality standards, and supporting general site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Plant Operation

• Empty bins as required
• Refill fuel bowser
• Load the hammermill
• Push up and manage stick piles
• Clear waste from the factory floor
• Shunter Vehicle:
  • Empty metal skips
  • Collect and transport stick frames

Manual & Operational Tasks

• Remove non-conforming materials from stick piles
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checks
• Bank and guide lorries safely into the building
• Supervise safe unloading of deliveries
• Conduct quality control checks on infeed materials

Health & Safety

• Operate all equipment in line with site safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Report any hazards, defects, or incidents promptly

Skills & Experience

• Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, and/or shunters (preferred)
• Good awareness of health and safety in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to carry out manual handling tasks
• Strong attention to detail, particularly for quality checks
• Team player with good communication skills

Additional Requirements

• Flexibility to support other operational areas as required
• Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment
