Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Peer Support Worker based in North Lincolnshire. The Peer Support Worker will provide emotional, social, and practical support to individuals, drawing on their own lived experiences to foster connection and trust. Responsibilities include organizing and facilitating peer support groups, collaborating with people to develop personalised support plans, and guiding individuals through their recovery journey. The role involves working closely with other staff and external organisations to ensure a holistic approach to support services.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build meaningful connections
- Capability to guide individuals through challenges using lived personal experiences
- Understanding of mental health, addiction recovery, or related support services
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners
- Organisationsl and record-keeping skills to manage support plans effectively
- Willingness to support individuals from diverse backgrounds with respect and inclusivity
- Previous experience in peer support, social work, counseling, or related fields is a plus
