About The Role
Leeds City College are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. The post holder will work closely with all staff in a wide-ranging role designed to help our learners’ progress during practical and theory lessons.
This role will be predominantly based at Temple Newsam, but on occasion there may be the requirement to also work at other campuses such as Printworks or the University Centre. This role includes supporting both practical and theory lessons with the department based in a working farm and historical estate, so the successful candidate should like animals and be comfortable in a land-based real work environment.
The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships and Higher Education (HE). From September we will be delivering courses from entry to level 6. This role will be working with Further Education (FE) students.
We envisage this role starting in September 2026, this position is part time and term time only (21 hours per week, 36 weeks per year).
What You Will Do
- Support teachers in the delivery of practical and theory lessons.
- Put in place interventions for whole groups or individual learners to help and support learners both academically and developmentally.
- Form meaningful and impactful relationships.
- Work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.
About You
- Have experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally.
- Have experience of positively managing learner progress in an education setting.
- Have the ability to work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.
