Support Worker/Personal Assistant – Eyemouth
A lady living in her own home in Upper Burnmouth with a few health conditions, including epilepsy, requires an additional carer to join her small team that provides her with daily support. She is looking for someone who has a fantastic sense of humour who can cover some regular hours each week, particularly the weekends, along with flexibility to cover others annual leave. There are various shifts, up to 3 visits a day to support her with personal and psychological care. The role is to help her with her morning routine – to get up and showered, then support with breakfast and leave a light lunch out, tea time – to help prepare a fresh meal, med prompts and evening – to support with bedtime routine.
Terms
- Hours per week: varied hours as relief cover
- Hours of work: shifts to include:
- 2 hours in the morning, around 10.30am – every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- 45 minutes at tea time – anytime between 5pm -7pm – Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday/Sundays
- 45 minutes at night, Saturday/Sundays, again flexible around 9.30pm
- £14.05 per hour.
- Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
- Probationary period of 6 months
- Travel costs can be discussed.
- Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

- To support client to ensure their safety and well-being
- To support with personal care needs as required which include:
- Support with showering and washing
- Support with applying creams
- Support to get dressed
- To support with general care needs such as:
- Medication prompts
- Meal preparation
- Laundry assistance
- To maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client’s equipment and surroundings
- To develop a positive relationship with the client.
- To work as part of a team to provide support to the client.
- To accompany the client on short trips out of the house for appointments or social activities if required.

Skills and Experience
- No formal qualifications are needed but a good sense of humour and cat lover is a must.
Experience is not essential for a candidate with the right personal attributes, but they should be able to show some suitability for the role.
