Butler Rose is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a highly innovative and internationally recognised Exeter business.

Our client is an award winning organisation with a strong global presence, an extensive and growing product portfolio, and a track record of award‑winning innovation. They are now seeking a Supply Chain Assistant to support their expanding operations and play a key role in the ongoing development of their supply chain function.

The Role

This is a varied and hands‑on position suited to an experienced Supply Chain Assistant who is comfortable working with multiple suppliers and taking ownership of day‑to‑day purchasing and inventory activities. The role will support demand planning, forecasting and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Raising, issuing and expediting purchase orders
  • Managing supplier communication and supporting performance against KPIs such as OTIF
  • Maintaining accurate data within stock and inventory systems
  • Supporting inventory management and ensuring availability to meet demand
  • Providing detailed shipping and delivery information
  • Working cross‑functionally to support wider operational objectives
  • Assisting with supply chain improvements and process optimisation

About You

You will be a proactive and highly organised individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You’ll be a confident communicator, comfortable working with internal teams and external suppliers, and naturally inquisitive with a desire to improve the way things are done.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to analyse data accurately
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • Experience of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma or similar)
  • Working towards, or interest in studying towards, CIPS
