BSL Learning Support Assistant – Barnet
Full-Time – Commencing ASAP
A supportive and inclusive school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated BSL Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced support assistant with BSL Level 2 qualification or above who is passionate about helping deaf and hearing‑impaired students access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and classroom support for pupils with hearing impairments
- Use British Sign Language to support communication and learning
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence and engagement
- Support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day
- Contribute positively to the wider school community
Qualifications
- Hold a BSL Level 2 qualification or higher
- Have previous experience working with children or young people in a school settingBe patient, proactive and compassionate
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to supporting inclusive education and pupil development
