About The Role
You will be performing services, maintenance, and repairs on our specialist fleet of diesel‑powered Rail Mounted Plant. Working throughout the South of England as part of a close‑knit team, you will complete high‑quality engineering tasks across pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, PLC, electronic, mechanical, and diesel systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Service specialist diesel rail plant (Tampers, Tramm’s & Cranes)
- Work on hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, PLC
- Follow service schedule to rail standards
- Carry out repairs, ensuring quality is adhered to
- Carry out fault finding to ‘right first time’
- Communicate technical engineering information clearly
- Work safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Undertake specific in‑house machine training
- Work effectively on own and as part of a close‑knit team
- Manage a large variation in day‑to‑day tasks, from heavy repair to technical servicing
Who We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Previous heavy engineering experience advantageous
- Background in HGV, LGV, agricultural machines, cars, or military equipment
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, PLC, mechanical systems, and diesel engines
- Adaptable and versatile engineering knowledge
- Enthusiastic about learning new skills and knowledge
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work to timescales and deadlines
- Health and safety awareness
- Meet and maintain the appropriate medical standard for the position, including D&A screening
- Basic IT skills
