Pelham house in Lewes is looking for a maintenencae support person to join our friendly team and to assit our Building manager onsite in our town centre exclsuive use Wedding & events venue.
This position is part time, working 3 days per week between 8.00am and 3pm ( flexible) .usually Sunday, Monday & Tuesdays until the end of the year.
Reporting to the Building Manager, the successful candidate will be someone who is physically fit, practical and self‑motivated. Good basic DIY repair skills are required, as is the ability to carry out minor repairs and jobs competently.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and alone and to establish a friendly and respectful rapport with the rest of the team is important.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Undertake minor repairs to fixtures and fittings., including a basic knowledge of basic plumbing, basic electrics and general Maintenance.
- Subject to safety regulations, redecoration of any area of the busienssl, agreed as reasonable on instruction from the Building Manager.
- Replace lamps and domestic fuses as required.
- Regular testing for Legionnaires/ fire alarms/ emergency lighting and evidence testing.
- Carry out minor repairs to venue equipment as agreed with the Building Manager.
- Repair resources in venue as necessary.
External Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and general tidiness of all external hard areas.
- to ensure effective and healthy operation in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
