Specialist Teaching Assistant – Technician
Part‑time, 25 hours per week, term time only, permanent. Start date: 1 September 2026. Location: Elmfield House, Sensory Support Service, Greystoke Avenue, Southmead, BS10 6AY.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to children and young people with visual impairment.
- Adapt and produce resources and technology aids.
- Manage the loan of resources and equipment.
- Work with teachers of the visually impaired.
- Support the delivery of training opportunities.
- Travel to and between different local authorities (Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Bath, and North East Somerset).
Requirements: Effective communication with professionals, parents and children; prior experience working with children who have special educational needs; direct experience with assistive technology or the ability to learn; ability to travel independently.
Enhanced DBS check required.
