Job Description:

Job Description: Education Placement Coordinator

Location: 18-36 Wellington Street, Woolwich London, SE18 6PF

Reports to: Placement Coordinator

Role Type: Full-time, Permanent

Role Purpose

The Placement Coordinator is responsible for bridging the gap between our trainees and the classroom. Your primary objective is to secure high-quality work experience placements for SCCD learners by building and maintaining robust relationships with schools. You will act as a career coach for our learners and a recruitment partner for schools, ensuring a seamless match that often leads to permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • School Acquisition & Relationship Management
    • Outbound Business Development: Conduct high-volume cold calling and strategic emailing to both new and existing schools to “sell” the benefits of hosting an SCCD trainee.
    • SLA Conversion: Explain the SCCD model to Headteachers and Business Managers, securing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for student placements.
    • Database Growth: Proactively research and identify new schools, multi-academy trusts (MATs), and nurseries to expand our placement network.
    • Account Management: Maintain regular contact with “host schools” to ensure they are satisfied with their current trainees and to anticipate future staffing needs.
  • Learner Advocacy & Profile Building
    • Candidate Profiling: Work 1-on-1 with learners to translate their background and SCCD training into professional “Candidate Profiles” that appeal to school hiring managers.
    • Interview Coaching: Conduct mock interviews and briefing sessions with learners to ensure they are prepared for school meetings and classroom trials.
    • Expectation Management: Act as the primary point of contact for learner inquiries regarding their placement journey, providing realistic timelines and professional advice.
  • Compliance & Administration
    • Vetting Coordination: Ensure all learners are “school-ready” with completed DBS checks and necessary compliance documentation before they step foot on site.
    • Tracking & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all school interactions and placement statuses within the CRM.
    • Feedback Loops: Collect and document feedback from schools following placement trials to help learners improve and to identify potential “hire” opportunities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Placement Volume: Number of learners successfully placed in schools per month.
  • Activity Levels: Daily targets for outbound calls and new school outreach.
  • Conversion Rate: The percentage of placements that lead to a permanent job offer for the learner.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • The “Recruiter” Mindset: You aren’t afraid of the phone. You understand that “No” from a school receptionist is just a starting point.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills; you must be able to write persuasive emails to busy Headteachers and speak with authority.
  • Empathy & Patience: You will be dealing with learners who may be nervous or transitioning careers; you need to be a supportive but firm mentor.
  • Organization: The ability to juggle 30+ active learner journeys while simultaneously cold-calling new schools.
  • Education Sector Knowledge (Preferred): Understanding of school hierarchies (Headteachers vs. Business Managers) and the academic calendar.

Benefits

Why Join SCCD?

  • Impact: You are directly responsible for helping people change their lives and enter the teaching profession.
  • Growth: Opportunity to move into Senior Placement or Business Development roles.
  • Culture: A fast-paced, high-energy environment with a focus on collective team success.
