Role Overview
You’ll be a role model and mentor and you’ll play a key part in supporting our young people. The role can be tough and challenging but it’s always incredibly rewarding.
We are looking for people with a passion for working with young people who have excellent communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, but not essential as we are able to offer the training and support required.

Responsibilities
- Join a team of experienced professionals and attend regular training sessions to keep knowledge up-to-date, enabling you to provide high-quality care.
- Support young people within the home environment and classroom by teaching life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and providing academic support.
- Plan activities tailored to the interests of the young people you care for (e.g., gaming, local walks, playing football), ensuring proactive and forward planning to provide a wide range of hobbies.
Qualifications
- Passion for working with young people.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
- Commitment to safeguarding and obtaining an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
- Compliance with safeguarding policy and practice.
Benefits
- Salary: £35,581.00 – £37,466.52 (weekend bonus included), dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Full-time: 2 days on/4 days off rota + an additional 12 hrs in each 6-week period (and repeat); each shift is 14 hours (8am‑10pm).
- A bonus payment of £1,500 will be payable to new care staff (Support Worker grade only) who join with a relevant qualification (t’s & c’s apply).
- 14 days holiday, good pension scheme, employee assistance programme, and paid training.
We would like support workers to join our ever growing team here at Aran Hall School. We provide 52 week residential care with education to children and young people with a range of learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour.
