Job Description:

We are working with a large SEN school just outside of Ashford and looking for experienced and qualified Learning Support Assistants to start throughout June into July.

The independent, coeducational day school caters for students across Key Stages 1–4 with EHC Plans for social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, as well as a range of additional learning difficulties including Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.

The school is housed on a beautiful rural site with facilities ranging from converted farm buildings to newly built classrooms. Students participate in sports events, archaeological digs, ecology studies, gardener projects, and vocational workshops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students 1:1 and on a small group basis.
  • Follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Manage challenging behaviour.
  • Work under the direction of the class teacher.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Ability to help children who are academically in need of extra help and support.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Professional references available.

Classroom Support is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants must be willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

  • Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service or a new application.
  • Must hold an enhanced DBS with a children’s barred check; if no DBS on the Update Service, the applicant must purchase a new one.
  • Verification of professional references.
  • Confirmation of the right to work in the UK.
  • Other relevant background checks as applicable.
  • Child safety and safeguarding procedures will be reviewed during onboarding.

Pay

Excellent rates of pay: £90 to £95 per day.
