Insurance Broker – Customer Advisor Role

Role: Insurance Broker – Customer Advisor Role – Personal Lines Insurance (Car, Van, Home, Travel)

Location: Winchester

Reports To: The Management Team

Salary: up to £28k plus bonuses

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:40 to 17:00; Saturdays 9:00 to 12:00 on rota

Job Summary: Working in a busy team mainly on the telephone, dealing with volume sales of car and van insurance and other products including home and travel insurance. Provide a can‑do attitude and aim to impress and please clients in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Good team‑working skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Desire to gain full understanding of products and processes and complete CPD.
  • Computer skills – Word & Excel.
  • Understanding of the Data Protection Act.
  • Empathy and a caring attitude.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Selling, advising and arranging personal lines insurance.
  • Demonstrating a positive, enthusiastic attitude towards clients and being a team player.
  • Understanding clients’ needs and working to impress them with knowledge and helpful attitude.
  • Providing client service in line with company policies and internal compliance.
  • Managing a portfolio of over 30 insurers.
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients’ needs and driving successful outcomes.
  • Maintaining personal smartness and presentation.
  • Actively following company policies and complying with Data Protection.
  • Contacting clients for required information, payment and supporting documents.
  • Completing accurate records, diaries and notes for future reference.
  • Attending staff meetings and training as required.
  • Following instructions from managers and attending to required jobs.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the Car Insurance sector.
  • Experience in Banking or Retail.
  • Understanding of cars.
  • Call centre experience.
  • Problem‑solving ability.
  • Good understanding of maths and percentages.
