We have an exciting opportunity to join our Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion Service for a new Peer Support Worker (PSW) position.

The PSW role supports service users with recent lived experience of mental health difficulties and/or criminal justice services, using their own experience to inspire hope and recovery.

Main duties of the job

Under supervision, you will provide emotional support, help users access services, and promote recovery. You will also receive training and guidance to aid your professional development.

Job responsibilities

Key responsibilities include engaging with service users, supporting them to access services, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.

Person specification

Qualifications

  • Secondary education to GCSE English A‑C grade or equivalent
  • Good standard of English
  • Willingness to complete an accredited Peer Support Worker training course
  • Mental health or health & social care related qualification (desirable)
  • Completion of WRAP or similar self‑management technique

Experience

  • Recent lived experience of mental health issues
