Royal Den Hartogh Logistics operates 54 locations across 27 countries, with a global team of over 2,600 colleagues, a modern fleet of 25,000 tank containers, 5,000 dry bulk containers and trailers, 575 tank trailers, and almost 900 trucks.

Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Operator to join our Continental Operations Team. This person will coordinate inter‑modal transport planning across Europe, maintain communication, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery/loading times are achieved through effective planning, problem‑solving, and consistent communication.
  • Plan and coordinate shipments in advance, securing required transport space and meeting customer requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers, internal departments, and customer service teams to ensure clear, timely, and accurate booking instructions.
  • Execute daily operational tasks, ensuring accurate and timely updates in internal systems.
  • Identify and communicate shipment anomalies, volume fluctuations, and customs‑related events to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor urgent orders, ensuring timely arrivals at terminals and escalating delays or non‑arrivals to avoid disruption.
  • Communicate significant delays or short shipments promptly, offering alternatives and obtaining approval for any additional costs.
