Job Overview
This senior support worker role is within the Medicine Physiotherapy service at North Bristol’s main site in Southmead. The role provides physiotherapy interventions to acutely unwell adults across various medical specialties, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The post rotates between clinical areas every six months. Working hours are 7.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday, with one weekend day a month.
Main Duties
- Provide physiotherapy assessments, exercise plans and support patients through their care journey including discharge planning
- Undertake duties in line with the 7‑day rostered working pattern
- Manage own caseload following referral from a physiotherapist, adhering to specified therapeutic programmes and protocols, monitoring progress and adapting treatment as necessary
- Support discharge planning and complete discharge paperwork
- Support and train other support workers and undergraduate students
Employment Details
Employment is within the Medicine Physiotherapy service at North Bristol NHS Trust. The role offers a full training and in‑service programme. The position will also be subject to the National Health Service grading system, with progression through the scale by annual increments.
