Behaviour Support Assistant – Alternative Provision – Portsmouth

A specialist alternative provision in Portsmouth is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils who require a more tailored approach to education.

The setting works with students who may have struggled in mainstream environments and need additional support with behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.

This is a hands-on role where building trust and consistency is essential.

You will be:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small classes
• Helping manage behaviour using a calm and consistent approach
• Supporting students to re-engage with learning
• Working alongside teaching and pastoral teams

The school has a strong support network in place, with experienced staff and clear behaviour systems.

Role details:

• £93 per day

Requirements:

• Experience with SEMH, behaviour or youth work preferred
• DBS on the Update Service
• Up-to-date safeguarding training
