- On‑Call Rota: 1 in every 5 weeks, with generous on‑call allowances:
- Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, based on experience and technical competency, plus overtime, on‑call payments, and premiums.
- Overtime Rates:
- Weekdays: After normal hours – first hour at flat rate, subsequent hours at 1.5x normal pay.
- Weekends: Double time.
- Expect 70 hours of shutdown overtime (per event x2 per year) plus an average 15‑20 hours monthly.
- Holidays: 33 days annually (including Bank Holidays).
- Pension: Generous contributions with 8% employer match (minimum 5% employee contribution).
- Bonus Scheme: Potential 10% discretionary annual bonus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform regular inspections to identify and resolve system issues, keeping operations efficient and downtime minimal.
- Collaborate with teams on system upgrades and process improvement.
- Keep accurate documentation, including maintenance logs and calibration records, to maintain system integrity.
- Ensure compliance with H&S regulations and company standards during all maintenance tasks.
- Support equipment commissioning, testing, and modifications for optimal performance and reliability.
- Facilitate a positive, team‑oriented environment by sharing knowledge and assisting colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) maintenance or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, sensors, and other electrical/instrumentation systems.
- Familiarity with technical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and safety codes.
- Analytical skills and troubleshooting expertise with a focus on identifying root causes.
- Strong dedication to safety and operational procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical, Instrumentation, or similar.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or energy sector environments.
- Hazardous area certifications, such as CompEx or ATEX.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Day‑to‑Day Role
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems for seamless operation.
- Conduct periodic calibration, repair faulty equipment, and implement upgrades.

- Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and utilizing PPE.
- Contribute ideas to process improvement initiatives and ensure system reliability.
- Balance a range of planned maintenance tasks with reactive troubleshooting to minimize system disruptions.
