A rewardingand impactful role supporting our new Enhanced Mainstream Resource Provision.

We are excited to be recruiting for a number ofcompassionate, proactive and skilled Enhanced Resource learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team at Carleton High School.

Ourbrand‑new Enhanced Mainstream Resource Provision (EMRP)openedon 13April 2026andprovidesspecialistsupportforstudents with an EHCP for Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), placed via the Wakefield SEND Panel.THE EMRPwillprovide a nurturing, bespoke learning environmentwhere students can thrive, while still being fully included in the wider school community.

As anEnhanced LSAyouwill playa central rolein supporting students throughout their weekly timetable. For up to 70% of the week, students will be learning in mainstream classrooms, whereyouwill be on hand to help them engage with lessons, buildconfidenceand develop increasing independence. During the remaining time in the resource base,youwill work closely with students to deliver andfacilitateindividualised interventions and focused support, ensuring each young person receives the targeted input they need to make progress academically,sociallyand emotionally.

This is a fantastic opportunity tohelpshape anewprovision from the very beginningand tomakearealdifference to the experience and outcomes oftheyoung peoplewe support.

Whatyou’lldo:

  • Support the daily running of the Enhanced Mainstream Resource Provision and provide a safe, welcoming environment for students.
  • Work with individual studentsor small groups,planning suitable activities and interventions in line with the students’ EHCP provision requirements.
  • Monitor and record student progress, working closely with the Resource Leader,teachersand external professionals.
  • Help students transition between the resource base and mainstream classes while promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

Is this the role for you?

This role would suit someone who:

  • Has experience supporting students with SEND, especially those withcommunication and interaction needs or ASD.
  • Can adapt learning resources, build positiverelationshipsand meet individual needs.
  • Communicates effectively with students,staffand families.
  • Is organised, reflective and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and supporting students’ wellbeing.

Contract details:

  • Multiplepositions available
  • 2 positions to start as soon as possible & 1 to start 01 September 2026
  • 30hours per week
  • Working pattern:08:45 – 14:45 Monday to Friday
  • Term timeplus 2 days(192working days per year)
