Job overview

To ensure that the booking process for patients on the elective waiting list is followed within the agreed timeframe and process.

To enter agreed surgery dates onto EPR system, this may include cancelling and re arranging surgery dates.

Arranging and booking Pre-Operative assessment appointments.

Provide an efficient, polite and compassionate service to patients and service users regarding booking appointments and surgery dates.

To deal with all calls to the admissions office regarding admission dates.

To provide administrative support to Pre-Operative assessment.

To deputise for the Gynaecology Inpatient Waiting List Manager and directly support during peak activity.

The post holder will be expected to work un supervised and on their own initiative as well as working as part of a team including clinical, management and clerical staff.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Knowledge & Experience

ANALYTICAL AND JUDGEMENT SKILLS

  • Able to maintain accurate patient records and patient information systems

PROFESSIONAL / MANAGERIAL / SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience of working with Web Based Packages
  • Able to maintain accurate patient records and patient information systems
  • Ability to act up and cover some the Gynaecology Inpatient Waiting List Manager duties when necessary

PERSONAL SKILLS / ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous experience of dealing with the public and resolving queries
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
