About the role
In every restaurant, you’ll find talented Assistant Managers who work with the General Manager and share the responsibility for the success of the restaurant’s results. This includes leading, inspiring and coaching the teams to ensure the restaurant delivers profitability, and optimises all sales opportunities while delivering an excellent level of customer service.
Our Assistant Managers are there to demonstrate leadership, coaching and direction, along with bringing our values to life for their team and our customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage Shift Managers and Crew, leading from the front and being hands‑on, working on the line and in the dining area.
- Support the General Manager in the delivery of perfect burgers & fries, store results and providing an above & beyond experience for your team and customers.
- Create an awesome working environment where people are happy to come to work and have fun while leading with our Values – Competitive, Enthusiastic, Family, Get It Done and Integrity.
- Ensure every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience – you will deal with complaints promptly in an open and honest way.
- Ensure each shift runs as smoothly as possible and that our values form part of your shift management, thinking about long‑term plans.
- Have full ownership of your P&L, which means you will need to drive sales whilst controlling costs.

Qualifications
- At least 1‑2 years of management experience in a similar role within a high‑volume hospitality or QSR environment.
- Experience running a busy shift and keeping the energy high.
- Track record of driving customer satisfaction scores, increasing engagement and consistently delivering excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews.
- Experience assisting with P&L management, controlling labour costs, and managing inventory/waste to hit profitability targets.
- Proven leadership skills – leading, coaching, and motivating a team, developing people and identifying future talent.
- Solid understanding of Food Safety standards, Health & Safety regulations, and maintaining 5‑star hygiene ratings.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
