Role Description

This is a full‑time on‑site role based in Westerhope as a Children’s Residential Support Worker. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day care, safety and well‑being of children and young people in a residential setting. Key duties include building positive relationships, implementing care plans, safeguarding, supervising daily activities, providing emotional support and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. You will work closely with the team to create a supportive space that encourages development, independence and emotional growth for the children in your care.

Qualifications

  • Skills in providing support to children and young people, including experience as a Support Worker or similar role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trusting relationships and work effectively with colleagues and young people
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures
  • Ability to provide technical support related to care plans and daily operations
  • Resilience, patience and empathy in supporting young people with complex needs
  • Level 3 in children’s residential or willingness to work towards it
  • A relevant qualification in health and social care or a related field is advantageous
  • Previous experience in a residential care setting is preferred but not mandatory
