Job Description

The Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick is seeking an experienced Maintenance Assistant / Handyman – Full Time to join our Maintenance team.

They will be responsible for maintaining, repairing services and equipment within the Hotel and grounds, ensuring facilities are kept in operation and a safe working condition for our guests.

Schedule

• 8 hour shift
• Weekend availability

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair services and equipment within the Hotel and grounds.
• Follow daily task list as issued by the Chief Engineer or Senior Shift Engineer.
• Carry out maintenance request orders such as plumbing tasks, changing light bulbs, minor electrical tasks.
• Perform PPM in all hotel areas, recognise faults and rectify them promptly and efficiently.
• Provide a friendly and professional service to all guests when in public areas or bedrooms.
• Be responsible for the care and cleanliness of the Hotel engineering areas allocated (e.g., workshop, plant rooms).
• Ensure compliance with relevant and current legislation at all times, e.g., Health & Safety Policy, Fire Regulations.

Essential Skills

• Plumbing and electrical skills advantageous.
• Keen eye for detail and ability to work alone.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace.
• Team player who can manage own workload.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
