We are looking to recruit committed and enthusiastic individuals to provide high quality support to all customers living in the resettlement hostel. You will assist in helping people move on into independent accommodation suitable to their needs.
Customers may be vulnerable and under a lot of stress and therefore the successful applicants will have good interpersonal skills and will understand the issues facing homeless people and rough sleepers. You will be capable of working on your own initiative, under the guidance of a supervisor.
The role includes working some weekends and bank holidays.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.

Responsibilities
- Provide high quality support to customers living in the resettlement hostel and assist in moving people to independent accommodation suitable to their needs.
- Work with customers who may be vulnerable and under stress, applying good interpersonal skills and understanding of issues facing homeless people and rough sleepers.
- Work on own initiative under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Be prepared to work some weekends and bank holidays.
- Demonstrate competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public in English to CEFR level C1 at interview.
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience of working with homeless people would be an advantage; it is essential to understand the issues surrounding the client groups.
- Sympathetic and able to cope in stressful and rewarding situations; possess good professional boundaries.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken English to CEFR level C1.
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
