Facilities Assistant – Domestic Services

We have multiple exciting opportunities available for highly motivated individuals to join our Cleanliness Services Team and be part of a front line team enhancing patient experience by delivering high standards of cleanliness. This is a Facilities Assistant role which will include working at satellite sites in the Shrewsbury area as required and also supporting our portering and catering teams as needed.
This is an alternate weekend working position. Shift pattern will be discussed further during interview.
We have vacancies working part time 30 hours and also evening shifts working 20 hours per week. We pay enhanced rates of pay when working weekends, bank holidays or unsociable hours (Before 6am and after 8pm).
Full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
- The role is multi-skilled, working across Cleanliness, Catering and Portering to support hospital services.
- Staff will work shifts including early, late, night and weekend hours as part of a rota.
- Duties include cleaning hospital areas, transporting patients and equipment, and helping with food service for patients, staff and visitors.
- Team members must follow health and safety rules, infection control procedures and food hygiene standards.
- The job involves physical tasks such as lifting, moving equipment and walking long distances.
- Staff will also provide support in emergencies and assist patients, visitors and clinical teams when needed.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- NVQ in Housekeeping or Industrial Cleaning
Experience
- Proven relevant experience of cleaning in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of infection, prevention and control
- Knowledge of cleaning products and COSHH
Skills
- Literacy skills in order to read instructions, guidelines, policies
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels, members of the public and patients
- Ability to work as part of a team
