Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Operations Support to join the team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

Our Field Operations team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

This role is a key part of the Field Operations team, providing essential support to deliver safe, efficient and high‑quality operational work across the network. It focuses on delivering core activities that are fundamental to maintaining performance and supporting day‑to‑day operations, ensuring high standards, consistency and reliability across the network.

The role plays an important part in improving the asset health pillar of Yorkshire Water’s strategy, contributing to the delivery of the mains renewal programme and supporting Field Operations in meeting key performance commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out essential operational activities that support safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery across the water network.
  • Play a key role in improving asset health, contributing to the delivery of the mains renewal programme and wider Field Operations performance objectives.
  • Support site access requests, coordinating entry for third parties undertaking non‑intrusive works on the network.
  • Complete cyclical site inspections, ensuring assets meet required standards in line with inspection protocols.
  • Deliver secondary chlorination activities, including sampling, equipment checks, maintenance and safe handling of materials.
  • Provide operational support such as filter changes, bottled water deliveries and customer communications, ensuring a positive customer experience during service impacts.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Deliver essential Field Operations activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with Yorkshire Water standards.
  • Work closely with Field Operations and Resource & Planning teams to plan and deliver both reactive and cyclical activities.
  • Take responsibility for working safely at all times, following Safe Working Procedures (SWPs) and escalating where guidance is unclear or requires development.
  • Use Yorkshire Water systems (e.g. SAP, Advantex, ICE, Odyssey, RTS, Nintex) to accurately record and manage work activity.
  • Manage your own workload independently, demonstrating good organisation, initiative and accountability.
  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships, working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and customers.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service, ensuring a professional and positive experience during all interactions.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and consistently reflect Yorkshire Water’s values and behaviours in your day‑to‑day work.
