Salary and Benefits

AfC Band 3 (pro rata) plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,818.72 per annum (pro rata).

Working Hours

15.57 hours per week, rostered over two days. Flexibility required; weekend work included.

Contract

Permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the hospital through the application of agreed policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control access to the hospital, ensuring all persons entering and leaving are authorised; search and escort staff, visitors, and vehicles.
  • Perform daily perimeter fence checks, including walking around a mile over uneven terrain and standing for extended periods.
  • Respond professionally and courteously to all situations, including disputes and confrontations, promoting respect and dignity.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to deliver agreed security standards and policies, operate security systems, and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide relief cover periods, typically lasting six weeks, up to three times per year.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience within a security or customer‑focused environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word and Outlook).
  • Good interpersonal skills, effective communication, literacy and comprehension, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
  • Valid full UK driving licence.
