Job Summary
Personal Assistant/Support Worker (casual hour worker, up to 6 hours per week during the 13 weeks school holidays) located in Abergele. Pay £15.60 per hour. Position open until 18th May 2026.
About the Child
Given a 10-year-old with learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, significant social communication difficulties, regression of speech, non-verbal, disordered sleep pattern, ADHD, and sensory processing difficulties. Requires support with daily activities, community outings, social and independent living skills.
Responsibilities
- Take the child out into the community and attend activities they enjoy.
- Participate in social activities and be open to trying new things.
- Improve social and life skills and promote independent living skills.
- Support the child in improving self‑esteem and self‑confidence.
- Provide non-judgmental emotional support, good listening skills and maintain confidentiality.
- Assist with travel and transportation, ensuring health and safety; PA must always hold child’s hand on roads.
- Perform any other duties agreed upon with the volunteer and handle training as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience of working with people living with autism and a learning disability.
- Class 1 UK driving licence (business use) and vehicle access.
- Good interpersonal skills; trustworthy, kind, punctual, reliable, patient and supportive.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain a professional standard of care.
- Will not use personal mobile phone at work except in an emergency.
- Welsh and/or English speaking is an advantage.
- DBS check and two references.
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship).
