Assistant Animal Technician 1

Job Summary

We are looking to expand our team of Animal Technicians at our world‑class facility in Tranent. This physically demanding role involves routine and moderately complex animal husbandry and clinical observations in a regulatory‑compliant laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Husbandry duties – delivering essential care and well‑being services to the animals
• Positive interaction with animals, including providing treats, fruits and vegetables
• Participating in animal training programmes
• Handling animals for procedures
• Performing physical environment cleanliness and upkeep and maintaining accurate records
• Documenting animal behaviours and activities

Qualifications

• Passion for working with animals and commitment to their welfare.
• Minimum of 4 Nat 5 or equivalent qualifications.
• Reliable with a good attendance record.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting pay of £12.60 per hour (annual salary of £23,842) and a benefits package including an 8% employer pension contribution and bonus opportunities.
