Warehouse Supervisor – Night Shift

Location: InPost Huyton, Unit One Symmetry Park, Cronton Road L35 1QR

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off

Hours: 21:00 – 09:30

Salary: £32,500 Pro Rata

What You’ll Be Doing

  • People Leadership
    • Assist in planning and forecasting staff requirements including rota management and annual leave.
    • Provide induction and on‑job training to staff and contractors.
    • Complete disciplinary procedures where required.
    • Ensure Return‑to‑Work interviews are completed at the start of each shift.
    • Manage absence and lateness according to company procedure.
    • Process payroll paperwork, including sickness, certificates, and holiday forms.
    • Hold team briefings on policies, health & safety, and business information.
    • Support management on employee issues.
  • Health & Safety
    • Ensure staff complete required health & safety training.
    • Maintain warehouse and loading areas clean, tidy and safe.
    • Highlight risk assessments required for staff, e.g., maternity, new tasks or machinery.
  • Process Management
    • Manage and motivate the team to meet customer timescales and improve productivity.
    • Ensure quality standards and productivity targets are met.
    • Provide hand‑over reports as required by management.
    • Undertake additional tasks within the appropriate level of responsibility or as directed by senior management.

What We Need From You

  • Experience of managing a shift, direct people leadership and resource planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication at all levels.
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office and in‑house programs.
  • A ‘Can‑do’ attitude and motivation to deliver goals and results through people and processes.
  • Ability to work within timescales and meet deadlines.
  • Problem‑solving skills.
  • Flexible working across various shift patterns and teams.
  • Team‑player, ready to help colleagues and consider the needs of the rest of the team.
  • Understanding of health and safety in a warehouse environment (essential skills such as H&S, FLT, leadership experience).
  • Driving licence.
  • Excellent time‑keeping and reliability.
  • Forklift licence beneficial but not essential.
