We are looking for a dedicated, proactive and highly experienced Children’s Residential Support Worker.
Location: Lostock, Bolton
Hours: 37.5 hours – Full Time
Salary: £26,230
Enhancements: Sleep in allowance of £107.60 per shift and time and a quarter paid for weekend hours worked.
Responsibilities
- Provide a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people, supporting them as if it was their family home.
- Support less experienced staff via positive and effective team working, achieving high‑quality standards of care set by the Registered Manager.
- Respect and promote the needs of each young person arising from their racial, cultural and religious background.
- Assist with the assessments of need and formulation of plans, working in partnership with other agencies and taking into account the wishes and feelings of the young people, their parents and other persons with parental responsibility, in line with legislation.
- Maximise educational opportunities and achievements, supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews.
- Undertake direct work designed to meet the young person’s needs as identified in the care plan, enabling them to reach their full potential, with particular attention to sensitive transitions.
- Support the young person’s significant relationships.
- Under close supervision take responsibility for key working for at least one young person.
- Develop and maintain a good level of awareness of child protection issues, assessing and recording risk, and referring issues to the Registered Manager.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records and complete written reports for planning meetings and statutory reviews to a high standard.
- Undertake a range of domestic duties, including cooking and cleaning, to a good standard in line with health and safety policies.
- Take responsibility for the promotion of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.

- Good standard of written and oral English.
- Flexibility to respond to the needs of the unit and young people.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Reliable and outgoing person with a level of maturity, skills and interests to engage the young people.
