Overview
Join Horizon Care and Education as a Youth Support Worker in Southampton and Portsmouth. Your role is to support young people in transitioning to independent living and preparing them for a successful, self‑determined future.
Duties
- Provide emotional and practical support, including out‑of‑hours on‑call.
- Develop and review support plans, ensuring safeguarding and risk management.
- Help young people access education, training, and employment.
- Manage properties and liaise with other professionals.
- Support young people to develop independent living skills to prepare them to live fully independently.
Qualifications
- Experience working with vulnerable young people, ideally care leavers.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and assessment skills.
- Ability to be resilient and empathetic when working with young people.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work shifts that include evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins.
- A driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
