Warehouse Supervisor – InPost UK, Huyton
InPost UK is rapidly expanding, building a leading out‑of‑home parcel delivery network. We’re seeking a dynamic, experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our Huyton night shift warehouse and drive operational excellence in parcel sortation.
Location, Shift and Hours
Location: Inpost Huyton, Unit one Symmetry Park, Cronton Road L35 1QR
Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days per week
Hours: 00:00 – 08:30 (40hrs)
Salary: £32,500 per annum
What you’ll be doing
People Leadership
- Assist in planning and forecasting staff requirements, including rota management and annual leave planning.
- Provide induction and on‑the‑job training to all staff and delivery contractors to ensure they can undertake their duties effectively, efficiently and safely.
- Complete company disciplinary procedures where required.
- Ensure all Return‑to‑Work interviews (RTW) are completed at the start of each shift and before employees return to their designated duties.
- Manage absence and lateness in accordance with Company procedure.
- Ensure that payroll paperwork is passed to the relevant department to ensure correct pay, including sickness, certificates and holiday forms.
- Hold team briefings to communicate Company policies, Health & Safety matters and other business information positively.
- Support management on employee issues.
Health & Safety
- Ensure all staff have completed the necessary Health & Safety training required to perform their role safely.
- Maintain clean, tidy and safe warehouse and loading areas in compliance with Company policy and Health & Safety regulations.
- Highlight to management any risk assessments required for staff, e.g., return from absence, maternity, or new tasks/machinery.
Process Management
- Manage and motivate the team to meet customer timescales and improve productivity.
- Ensure quality standards and productivity targets are met.
- Provide hand‑over reports as required by management.
- Undertake any other tasks within appropriate responsibility levels or as directed by senior management.
What we need from you
- Experience managing a shift, direct people leadership and resource‑planning skills.
- Verbal and written communication at all levels.
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and in‑house programmes.
- Can‑do attitude with motivation to deliver goals and results through people and processes.
- Ability to work within timescales and meet deadlines.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Flexibility to work across various shift patterns and teams.
- Teamplayer, ready to help colleagues and consider needs of the team.
- Understanding of health and safety in a warehouse environment; essential skills (H&S, FLT, leadership).
- Driving licence.
- Excellent time‑keeping and reliability.
- Forklift licence beneficial but not essential.
